Do leaders need coaching?

Since the personal challenges of leaders impact the organizational effectiveness, I believe that good leaders have a specific responsibility. Working on your leadership skills makes the growth of others in the organization possible and can lift the organization to a higher level of performance.

My coaching helps people to develop their leadership skills in a cross cultural work environment. 

In cross cultural coaching sensitivity and knowledge of your own roots and the roots of your company are essential for your effectiveness. During the coaching you will learn more about the Dutch culture in general and the business culture in the Netherlands. You will be encouraged to reflect on your own values, mental framework and culture and relate these to your work environment. The focus is on personal growth by taking responsibility for your leadership and behaviour. Taking this responsibility is a courageous step and the key for success.


Your coach


Marieke Jellema is working as an independent consultant, interim manager and executive coach. With almost 30 years of experience in business, strategy, finance and leadership, she has a deep understanding of  organizational challenges as well as people’s dilemma’s, learning questions and growth opportunities.

She is a master in helping people identifying their key issues, by listening, mirroring and being straight forward in a gentle and non-judgmental way. She enables people to discover their inner drivers and integrate feedback that is both challenging and helpful. Marieke loves to see people grow, be successful in their jobs and obtain happiness in life. Hundreds of people have been able to experience her personal approach.

Marieke has experience in a cross cultural setting working with a diverse range of cultures in her private consulting and with nonprofit boards. This means Marieke has a sound understanding of different ways of working and the need to adapt to different contexts in different environments. Her excellent people skills, combined with her analytical skills, extensive education and working experience in both The Netherlands and abroad make that she at ease in the international context and sensitive to cross cultural differences, able to help people improve their performance at an executive level.

Marieke has been working with people in the profit and not-for-profit sector, both for large international companies in highly competitive environments as with people working in the care sector and NGO’s. Whenever people are looking for increasing their effectiveness, driven by authentic willingness to learn, it is highly likely that Marieke is capable of enabling this.

Coaching sessions take two hours per session and are held in Apeldoorn. The average coaching program takes five sessions. Please contact Marieke for a introductory meeting to discuss your learning question and desired coaching result. This meeting is free, without obligation and takes 1,5 hour. When you decide to pursue, the interview is part of the program. Invoicing is done at the start. GDPR is applicable as is the ethical code of conduct.
